POSITION: UNIT CLERK II – Emergency Room
– Primarily Stratford Site
Full-Time Position
(Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7 days/week)

POSITION SUMMARY: As the primary contact person in the Emergency Room, the Unit Clerk II coordinates unit activities to promote relationships with the patients, visitors and healthcare professions. In addition, the Unit Clerk contributes to the efficient function of the Emergency Room primarily through effective clerical and communication activities.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Inpatient Mental Health & ED

DATE REQUIRED: July 22, 2019

SALARY: $23.87 to $25.33 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Grade 12 Education
- Two year Medical Office Administration Diploma

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting
- One year’s related work experience in a Registration Department preferred
- Two years’ experience in an Acute Emergency Room preferred

ABILITIES:
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Meditech Information System and Microsoft
Office Applications
- Medical terminology
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Team oriented and customer focused
- Well organized.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
