Maintenance Millwright

Mitrex, an Integrated solar and construction solution provider, is looking for an experienced, full-time Maintenance Millwright who will be responsible for the daily maintenance of all mechanical equipment in the plant, and ensuring all preventative maintenance is completed.  The individual will also be responsible for resolving unplanned equipment downtime issues and supporting ongoing continuous improvement projects.

COMPETENCIES

• Certified Industrial Millwright (433A Certified).
• Minimum 5 years of experience working as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic/Technician within a highly automated, high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Expert knowledge of CNC machines.
• Experience working with a CMMS system.
• Strong familiarity with machine shop practices (lathe and milling machines)
• Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, routine hours with occasional overtime.
• On-Call Servicing is required to support the assigned area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic issues.
• Work on preventative maintenance programs and keep detailed and accurate maintenance records.
• Perform cleaning, lubricating, and other routine maintenance work on machines.
• Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhauls, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
• Fabricate custom parts, fixtures, and guarding by means of MIG/ARC welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting.
• Assemble and install machinery and equipment such as conveyor systems, bearings, gearboxes, motors, shafts, sprockets, etc.
• Participate in and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Practice good housekeeping, including 5S requirements, and time management in the performance of daily duties.
• Comply with all legislated and company’s health, safety, environmental, quality procedures, and programs.
