Industrial Supervisor (Red Seal Industrial Mechanic, Welder, or Fabricator)
We operate a full-service structural steel and aluminum fabrication shop in Prince George, BC. Our field division provides equipment maintenance and installations in sawmills around Western Canada and the United States. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Industrial Mechanic Supervisor to oversee field projects. This position is based out of Prince George, BC.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervise and oversee field employees and operations.
- Field Operations include but are not limited to: fabrication, welding, dismantling and assembling industrial machinery
- Installations of new machine centres and/or parts, maintenance and trouble-shooting of mobile and stationary industrial equipment
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
- Set goals and clear expectations for individual employee performance and project deadlines.
- Schedule and plan work for all employees
- Assign tasks to employees that maximize their skills and abilities.
- Monitor employee productivity (quantity of work produced) and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- Ensure that employees are properly following all industry standards (quality of work) when it comes to procedures and other operations.
- Consult with clients/customers throughout the duration of the project and relay project information to members of management.
- Ensure project is on schedule and appropriate quality standards are being met.
- Adjust flow of work and re-prioritize plans and processes promptly when issues arise to still meet the project deadlines and quality standards.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of inspections and preventative maintenance on tools, PPE, and equipment.
- Maintain inventory levels of consumables and all supplies required on site for the entire scope of work.
- Monitor field tool inventory and report deficiencies to management. Communicate special tooling/equipment needs to Operations Manager.
- Review and approve employee time cards daily. Ensure all materials and supplies for the project are recorded on work orders.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following and implementing safe work practices and procedures.
Requirements:
- Red Seal certification in Industrial Mechanics, Welding, or Metal Fabrication preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a field-based supervisor or foreman role
- Valid Class 5 drivers license
- Ability to work safely in high hazard environments
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must provide personal tooling and a secure tool box

Shift Details
- Fulltime, Weekend shift, 12 hour days, Friday-Sunday
- Shift premium: Two hours of straight time top-up per day
