ABOUT THE ROLE
The Resident Counsellor provides compassionate support and counseling to residents, their families, and caregivers at Hogarth Riverview Manor. This role helps individuals navigate the challenges of long-term care by offering emotional support, guidance, and resources that promote well-being, adjustment, and quality of life.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
Degree or diploma in Social Sciences
Active registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
Minimum of two years’ experience working with older adults
Knowledge and experience in gerontology, Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementias
Experience assessing client needs and determining eligibility for admission based on program criteria
Skills/Abilities:
Experience in developing individualized care plans for residents
Skilled in assisting, supporting, and advocating for residents and their families
Ability to provide information, guidance, and education to residents, families, and caregivers
Proven success working within an interdisciplinary team to create and implement service plans as needed
Strong facilitation, communication, and teamwork abilities
