ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Coordinator – Recruitment & Retention, the Human Resources Intern supports various functions within the Human Resources Department with the ability to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• Degree or diploma in business administration or commerce, majoring in human resources
• Experience with customer service

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with SJCG staff, customers, other stakeholders, and the general public
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to use independent judgment and maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, and data entry

Conditions of Employment:

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.

NOHFC Requirements:

The following eligibility requirements must be met under the NOHFC funding program:

1. Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce are transitioning to a new career or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field
2. Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship
3. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age
4. Candidate must reside and be legally entitled to work in Canada
