Description
The Director of Professional Practice and Education provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for clinical practice standards across the organization. This role champions excellence in patient care through evidence-based practice, regulated health professional oversight, clinical education, and interprofessional collaboration.
The Director of Professional Practice and Education will establish and sustain a professional practice and collaborative learning environment that supports and advances evidence-based practice, regulatory standards and maximizes each profession’s ability to achieve the full potential of their role and facilitates continuous improvement through knowledge translation.
The Director, Professional Practice and Education is responsible for the promotion and enhancement of professional nursing and allied health practice throughout the organization, in alignment with the mission, vision, values and strategic direction of the hospital. In addition, the Director understands healthcare issues, trends, and technology; and advises the strategic planning, management, service delivery, organization, and evaluation of standards of professional practice. This job incumbent works closely with clinical leaders, educators, the strategy and innovation team, and frontline teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional accountability, and safe, high-quality patient care.
