Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator with proven skills operating and setting up Mazak 5-axis lathes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to producing high-quality parts that meet exacting specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor Mazak 5-axis lathes to produce precision components.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers.
- Select, install, and align tooling as required.
- Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and program edits (Mazatrol and/or G-code).
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances.
- Maintain equipment and work area in accordance with company safety standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and production schedules.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating Mazak Integrex 5-axis lathes.
- Proficiency with Mazatrol and G-code programming/editing.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Assets
- Experience with other CNC equipment (mills, turning centers).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices.
- Journeyman Machinist or equivalent trade certification.
Work Environment
- Full-time, [day/afternoon/night] shift.
