ABOUT THE ROLE
St. Joseph's Care Group - Addiction Programs is seeking a Therapeutic Recreationist. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant develops, organizes, and implements therapeutic and leisure life treatment plans and programs designed to assist individuals with mental health and/or substance use in order to attain an optimal level of health well-being.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
Degree/Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent combination of education and experience
Registered with or demonstrated eligibility for registration with the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association or similar related associations and Therapeutic Recreation Ontario
Specialized experience or certification required; i.e. Driver's Safety Course Current First Aid and CPR
Skills/Abilities:
Experience in Therapeutic Recreation programming as it relates to programs offered within a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge of mental health and addictions including crisis intervention skills
Experience and demonstrated understanding of Indigenous Culture and Northern Communities
Knowledge of addictions and familiarity with working in a residential setting including crisis intervention skills
Experience working with individuals across the lifetime; e.g. youth adults and older adults
Proven interpersonal group and teaching skills
Demonstrated regular attendance at work
