Responsibilities Include:
- Laying and installing PVC pipe, PEX pipe with fittings and couplings for sewers and water mains
- Putting shoring in place
- Prepare and grade trenches within close proximity of excavator operator
- Perform hand signals and/or flag control as necessary
- Other duties as assigned, including attending and participating in tool box safety meetings
- Comply with established company policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Required Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in civil earthworks construction
- Experience with machine-operated trenching tools, including operation of a tapping machine
- Able to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects
- Strong verbal skills and hand signal knowledge
- Ability to work long hours with some weekends and overtime in all types of outdoor environments and weather conditions
- Must have CSA approved safety boots
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License and have own transportation to get to/from job sites within the City of Calgary
