We're looking for a dynamic Food Production Manager to take the lead the egg grading station—a vital hub in our farm-to-table journey. This isn’t just about operations; it’s about orchestrating a smooth, safe, and high-performing production environment that sets the standard in food quality and team excellence.
In this role, you’ll be the go-to leader responsible for driving success across every facet of the grading station—from staff safety and food hygiene to inventory flow, transportation logistics, equipment maintenance, and audit readiness. You’ll set the tone for excellence, making sure both short-term wins and long-term goals are being achieved.
Position Accountabilities
- Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing principles across packing and shipping operations.
- Develop and execute the annual egg flow plan, ensuring all logistics support sales growth.
- Communicate proactively with producers regarding any changes to egg supply.
- Oversee and manage grading station projects, from planning through execution.
- Direct day-to-day operations related to packing, shipping, sales, and marketing of eggs.
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop, manage, and track the annual budget for the grading station.
- Identify and implement cost-saving strategies that enhance profitability.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, audit procedures, and industry regulations.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies and pricing decisions.
- Review cost structures and recommend market adjustments as needed.
- Provide strong leadership, coaching, and support to supervisors and team members to foster performance and growth.
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential
- Ensure bio-security protocols are adhered to
- Follow all safety processes and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Post-Secondary education in Food Science, Business, Operations, or related experience is preferred.
- 5+ years' previous management experience in a manufacturing environment with proven leadership abilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and written
- Ability to coach and develop employees
