Current Rate of Pay: Min $54.04- Max $67.56
Current Shifts: Weekdays-Evenings and Nights (8 hours), Weekends & Stat holidays-Days and Nights (12 hours)
Position Summary:
The Manager After Hours (MAH) is a cross-organization leadership role reporting to the Director of Professional Practice. The Manager is the on-site manager acting as the delegate for hospital leaders (Directors & Managers) outside of regular hours.
Key responsibilities include: The Manager serves as a role model for professional and organizational core competencies and supports quality patient-care outcomes.
- Promoting teamwork and professional practice in accordance with defined standards for all departmental areas
- The Manager supports the hospital during evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
- Staffing and resource management.
- Ensuring appropriate support services, supplies available, and role modeling a safe working environment in keeping with the vision, mission and values of GGH.
- Coordinating emergency/risk management activities,
- Championing GGH strategic plan and program initiatives utilizing data and measurable outcomes through systems thinking; PDSA (plan, do, study, act)
- Supporting and collaborating with GGH stakeholders both internally and externally

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Current Certificate of registration as a Regulated Health Professional in the Province of Ontario
- Undergraduate degree in a health-related field, BScN preferred
- Minimum 3 years Acute care experience
- 1-3 years leadership experience
- Manager experience an asset
- Completion of the GGH Developing Leaders Program (or willing to complete within a year), preferred
- Good knowledge of the operation of all Hospital departments
- Demonstrated understanding of resource allocation in hospitals including human resources
- Excellent conflict management, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Confidence in decision making and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders, while working as a liaison and coach
- Creative and flexible leadership style
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a self-directed manner, as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
- Ability to assist staff in integrating the concept of patient-centred care into clinical practice and promoting interprofessional teamwork.
