RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive instructions, drawings, diagrams, and work orders. Interprets drawings or diagrams and plan the details for the work procedure. Select tools required.
- Knowledgeable on the proper isolation of circuits. Plan and perform work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electrical principles and codes, wire specification, the properties of various materials and the operation and application of equipment.
- Locate sources of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation (troubleshooting).
- Dismantle and assemble, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panel circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc.
- Perform work on “hot” lines as required.
- Replace coils, resistors, rheostats, relays, etc.
- Adjust contactors, relays, etc. Reconnect terminal leads, panel boards and distribution feeders.
- In emergencies, make temporary or permanent repairs to minimize interruption of production.
- Install conduits, wires, fittings, switches, controls, and fixtures. Connect and adjust all types of electrical equipment as required for new or replacement installations. Make all required splices and connector joints.
- Perform rigging in connection with servicing of electrical equipment.
- Perform work with a minimum of direction.
- Arrange for the handling of materials and equipment to perform job.
- Use CMMS system.
- Work on high voltage equipment.
- Verifie radiation alarms with the appropriate equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Red Seal Electrician certification
- 3 to 5 years relevant experience preferred
- Experience working with the following equipment: AC/DC motors, AC/DC drives, PLC’s and distributed I/O’s an asset
- Troubleshooting, maintenance, and preventive maintenance skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Bilingual: English and French an asset
- Able to complete a criminal background check upon successful hires
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Salary: From $48.89/hour with certification
- Full-time, permanent position
- Night shift premium: +$2.00/hour
- Weekend shift premium: +$2.00/hour

- Continental schedule: 12hrs rotating shift (day - night - weekend)
