We are currently looking for a skilled, dedicated person to fill the position of Golf & Turf Equipment Technician (Mechanic) at our Upper Onslow, NS location.

Purpose:
Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned John Deere Golf & Turf equipment . May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager. This position requires regular road work.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment.
- Conduct approved scheduled maintenance.
- Overhaul and test major components.
- Complete documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders.
- Consult equipment operating manuals, schematics, and drawings.
- Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Operations Manager.
- Participate in golf and turf training programs.
- Maintain current knowledge of our turf product offerings, as well as competitive machines.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Complete all required reports and forms related to work assignments.
- Account for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties.
- Collaborate with other departments as directed by the manager.
- Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety, and a positive work environment.
- Be available for overtime and on-call work, especially during peak seasons.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- 3+ years of experience performing service repairs
- Background in golf service repairs preferred
- Experience with John Deere considered an asset
- Small Engine Certificate with some heavy equipment experience preferred
- Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
- Valid driver's license required
- Forklift license an asset
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
